Default XP 64-bit, or no? [ANSWERED]

Can you think of any reasons why I shouldn't go with XP 64 bit? I'd go with Vista, but I know I woudn't have the patience for it.

I just ordered a 4 GB dual-channel kit (this one here), and I forgot that XP 32 bit won't "see" all 4GB, but rather just over 3GB. So, I figure I may as well go to 64-bit because my whole system supports it. But, I just don't know if it'll break any of my software...

I know that some software is unsupported on 64-bit, I don't remember any examples and they may have released 64-bit versions of those which was unsupported but you should defiantly check with game manufacturers etc before you upgrade.

Oh, I finally did a Google search. It looks like my answer is a screaming "do not go to 64 bit yet". Well I guess this thread is over with. See, that's why I want to be able to change the thread's titles. Now I should be changing it to something like "XP 64-bit, or no? [answered]".

You sure you don't have that on threads you started yourself? I changed it for you but look in thread tools and see if you find something like "edit thread" or try editing the first post. I have never tried that myself coming to think of it.

I'll leave this thread open for now, maybe someone else comes along and wants to ask questions.

yeah, I tried all that (after all, I'm a serious nerd.) I'm convinced it's a default setting that needs to be changed.
